"Providing Process and Controls that Enable Consistency"

Why PortalTown?

Enterprise or Corporate portals (intranets and extranets) are becoming increasingly visible in today’s high demand world. They are used to cut the cost of working internally with employees as well as externally with customers, suppliers and partners. Unfortunately, and way to often, focus tends to gravitate towards traditional 'look and feel' rather than rich functionality, usability and integration. This leaves companies with a very good-looking portal, which has poor integration to back-office and front-office systems.

At PortalTown we build portals leveraging our Application Development Framework (ADF), using OpenSource, IBM, BEA, and Oracle technology, that are rich in functionality, usability and fully integrated into existing systems, delivering the navigational expectations of the end-users and the cost-saving expectations of the organization.

Why use an ADF?

Using an ADF insulates your organization from evolving technology. For example during the calendar year of 2005, a major software vendor had 6 different releases of Portal which were not compatible, thus making migration virtually non existent. An ADF can produce generalized patterns for look, feel, and behavior decreasing the overall software development lifecycle and reducing costly re-writing of code to meet technologies ever changing pattern.

Using an ADF enables companies to pull together a standard set of processes and controls so that developers can move between projects more easily thus providing customers consistency across vendors and projects.
